Mike Macdermid 0:13

Hello and welcome to the Nintendo Switch UK podcast awards. 2020. Did that did? That was my theme tune. That was beautiful. Did you like that?

Unknown Speaker 0:26

theme tune of the year

Mike Macdermid 0:27

I've won that award. So, so we're joined by myself, Mike.

Anton Winters 0:33

I'm James.

Mike Macdermid 0:34

I'm Anton and no Allister. No Emily, but they have voted on talk us through First of all, hi, we've done this in the house. We're

Anton Winters 0:42

going to work. So essentially, we've all corroborated and we made a little we survey with all of the accounts, appropriate and other categories so we could vote for and each of them before went round and filled out the survey. I've claimed them all and have all the mysterious answers on My cycle computer and we'll have a wee chat and reflect on the year and see see what solves all sprinkled on.

Mike Macdermid 1:07

Yeah, no I think it's gonna be a lot of fun and we're going to talk a little bit about the games so I think the way we're going to do we'll do a category you're going to tell everyone the games and then at the end we'll announce what the winner was because I tell you something James there were there were a few very tricky ones to decide which one to go for it was really difficult Yeah.

Unknown Speaker 1:23

And as

Mike Macdermid 1:24

well as that it's you know, there's some which do some things really well and others that do other things really well and and trying to separate them was a

Unknown Speaker 1:31

tough task. I think so I think it's one of these ones as well where when I voted on it there if you then asked me today, I would have a very different set of answers. Because it was just so close.

Mike Macdermid 1:42

Yeah, and also what's really interesting we should probably disclose this now the only person that knows the award winners is Anton myself and James don't know yet

Anton Winters 1:51

and you can trust it hasn't been ranked because searches I even just putting watch options there should be there's there's so many games okay. This year, so many announcements stuff came out and yes, so before we get started I'll just do a quick rundown of all the categories so you know what we'll be talking about today. Excellent. And we'll be starting off with biggest surprise of the year followed by favourite rumour of the year we do talk about a lot of rumours so we think that would be fun, best visual aesthetic, best narrative, best audio or music or and innovative gameplay award, the Battle of friends awards so that's your coach Co Op games or multiplayer games at most intensive anticipated title, best Indie Game of the Year. Excellent looking forward to this so will we will we get started with biggest surprise of the year? Certainly. So we had so many we didn't have as many drinks as we would have wanted but they all dead had fairly hard got some really crazy titles we had the level which nobody saw that coming Overwatch links awakening venture. I'm crossing my choice for was cancelled who saw that? Falling swiftly on title of breath the wild sequel and even to slash for Assassin's Creed games who saw that I know

Mike Macdermid 3:07

James of those ones obviously I'm trying hard to remember now as well because I can't actually remember for a lot of these ya actually and a lot of the reason for that is because there was I was so close but yeah, which ones of those kind of caught your attention?

Unknown Speaker 3:22

It was the the Mad cat Nintendo peripherals the Lambo and the ring fit adventure I think level especially because it just came out nowhere. You know, sometimes you see these things and you you hear something at a time Oh, they're working on this. Didn't have any idea. We got the trailer. still didn't really have any idea what it was. But yeah, it was just kind of it was a big surprise. And it was something that was just really cool and different.

Mike Macdermid 3:50

Yeah, I would agree with the the peripheral stuff because the the ring fit for me was so random. But it wasn't a surprise in the same sense for me. Because I wasn't it wasn't something that I, I didn't expect the unexpected, which is something I never really thought of because of so different. Whereas level Yes, the VR element of that that was a bit of a surprise until What about you? What were your thoughts? You know,

Anton Winters 4:13

the amazing thing here is we had all these announcements and the tracks are always always very exciting. And we call something we chat. But it's amazing here we're looking at and it's like level rank that they just dropped out of nowhere, especially the ring fit where they showed off the peripheral and then heart like the game layer, and even the our world that will just say they threw up the trailer and then we're like, oh, we're getting this massive tale in a Yeah, it's been a surreal time.

Mike Macdermid 4:39

Yeah, I was. My the way I looked at this was the Yes, the peripheral stuff was a surprise, but but my counter argument to that was, it's Nintendo. And if anyone's gonna do something weird, it's Nintendo. So I actually went up and down more the roots of the games like the outer worlds, which I thought was an incredible announcement because it's such a big game, but excited for that and Assassin's Creed Because, for me, although there were a lot of rumours about Assassin's Creed, I kind of felt for a long time that this isn't going to happen. And for me it was also a moment where we said, we thought that Nintendo are actually here they're actually going to be bringing some big triple A titles to this, which that are decent titles. I know we had three on the Wii U. But we're actually sees narrowboat Nintendo bringing big triple A titles and that was one thing was perhaps missing earlier very early on in the year. Some of those kind of repackage ones I can't remember if I went out to Worlds or Assassin's Creed, but I definitely went that route, I think

Anton Winters 5:34

was after worlds they went for Well, shall we shuffle along and decide on our bail, our biggest prize of the year?

Mike Macdermid 5:42

Yes, I'm interested to see how the voting went. Yeah,

Anton Winters 5:45

so Nintendo Switch UK podcast, biggest prize of the Year award goes to untitled Breath of the Wild sequel. Why? Yes. Pile by a landslide there. So it's funny. conversation.

Mike Macdermid 6:01

Yeah, that's fine. I mean, I surprise that's my only argument because

Unknown Speaker 6:05

I hoped for it. But it was a big surprise, I suppose. I guess I'm now at the point where I'm still looking forward to it. So I'm kind of not putting as much weight on the things that were announced and have come out. Yeah,

Mike Macdermid 6:16

yeah. It is a big one though. Anton, isn't it?

Anton Winters 6:19

Oh, definitely. I think is Willis during it came during one of the weaker directs of the year, and we had Animal Crossing, so a lot of people suspected that to be there, there one more thing their big tail. And then all of a sudden we go a tight reveal for a game that's coming out very far away. Like most of the games, Nintendo veils are coming out less than a year away. So yeah, I think it just caught up to pull off guard which is

Mike Macdermid 6:44

Yeah, well, congratulations, our very first Nintendo Switch UK podcast award biggest surprise of the year as well. So next, I was the best visual aesthetic Anton.

Anton Winters 6:53

Oh, sad. Sadly, no, we've got a favourite rumour of the

Mike Macdermid 6:57

Oh, that's what I haven't got day. Okay. Favourite rumour of the year?

Anton Winters 7:00

Yes, obviously we do love a little bit of gossip on the podcast as Alster would say. And this year has been certainly Philip hits. especially early on in the year we had an account law about the switch many as we knew at the time. I think for the first 15 episodes podcast, we had persona we had a lot of remarkable experts bring their games to the console and experts game pass, and obviously switch Pro. And as of late, we've been chatting about Crash Bandicoot making a return.

Mike Macdermid 7:32

I have to admit the persona one was my favourite room for a very long time and it's now my most hated because it never came and you've been playing on the ps4. Am I missing out by not having on the switch? I think so.

Unknown Speaker 7:45

Yeah, I think so. I look for a kind of, because I played Fire Emblem three houses first. You can see a lot of inspiration was taken from a very different games. Yeah, but both very good.

Mike Macdermid 7:59

Okay. What did you go for on this voting for the rumour?

Unknown Speaker 8:03

i? Well, I remember seeing a lot of stuff about the different hardware. And I wasn't really sure if I wanted that. Because I remember when the DS and the 3ds changes came that economic play this game on this specific one. I wasn't keen on that. But all the talk about Xbox games, I thought was very interesting. Yeah. And I thought would have been a very good way for not only Microsoft to kind of do well, but for Nintendo to just get a few of those extra games that wouldn't make it otherwise.

Anton Winters 8:36

The switch light or the mini as it was for many, many months as a rumour. That was a big rumour on Yeah, and it felt like every every week, we were basically hitting a switch, a switch mini rumour, and it's kind of funny looking back hope accurate. A lot of those rumours were and much fun. That sees how, if that makes sense. rumour a bad rumour, but I'm

Mike Macdermid 9:01

not sure. I mean, I was funny because you talk about persona five there's a bad rumour. But is that great rumour because it was a rumour for ages and it was like this happening today. The direct tonight his persona, persona is going to be the first announcement and then it just didn't happen. Well, we got the persona. scramble. That's the one Yeah. All right, Anton. I think we should reveal

Anton Winters 9:21

the winner. So the Nintendo Switch UK podcast favourite rumour of the year goes to Xbox game pass on sweat. Okay, okay.

Mike Macdermid 9:31

We am we getting that? What's the Yeah,

Anton Winters 9:35

you know, it's I think the thing is, what's this one that's itself very much unravelling. You know, we've got, we've started getting Xbox games on switch, which we didn't even have when we started the podcast, which seems light years away from where we're coming. And we've had Phil Spencer can come along and talking about how he wants to bring x box game pass to all of the different devices and there you know, it's so surreal of a rumour and it could have massive ramifications and it's Yeah, it seems crazy to think call for just a few episodes ago.

Unknown Speaker 10:07

Yeah, absolutely.

Mike Macdermid 10:08

Well, well done. Congratulations to Microsoft. For this which we're still

Unknown Speaker 10:15

waiting for. We have someone to come and collect these awards. Yeah some sort of physical embodiment of the rumour.

Mike Macdermid 10:20

I would like to say that what's the space from Halo is coming to collect Master Chief Master Chief is going to collect that particular award by appearing on the switch. Next up is it is it best visual aesthetic this time?

Anton Winters 10:35

It's good. So this year we had tonnes of fairly gorgeous games we have untitled game of associated ascetic the World Aids with you with its Celtic cross section and me Luke, Damon x makena Kids Pyro capades, what's kept 1950s a second setec and links awakening.

Mike Macdermid 10:55

I know exactly what I voted for in this one. I remember. I'm interested See, it's the same as yours, James.

Unknown Speaker 11:00

Well, I can't remember but listening to all of those. I'm having a very difficult decision. Picking which one's my favourite? I think I know which one just kind of edges up but they've all got their own merits

Mike Macdermid 11:13

they do and very different games. I think that's what makes it so difficult. Yeah, not we're competing one against the other. It's just Which one do you think has the most impact for me? I went for cuphead I knew I went for I

Unknown Speaker 11:23

think I went links awakening, I can understand that

Mike Macdermid 11:25

that would have been my second choice. wise choices, you know, for me, those were the two big ones. And it's fascinating because they're both beautiful in very different ways. Yeah. Especially copy. Sorry, I was gonna say cuphead for me, reminds me so much of that era of cartoons, which are just such classics that everybody grew up with. I think for me that extra nostalgia factor. I know obviously links awakening is massive nostalgia as well. But for me, those that just shaded it.

Anton Winters 11:55

Yeah, and with this one, it was a very, very tight and competition between those tight get two games for everyone. Over we do have a vector. So for the pace, Nintendo Switch UK podcast awards Nintendo best special acetic blah blah blah The Legend of Zelda links awakening, plasticine calc playdough esque Luke, the debt for fields and absolutely lovely title.

Mike Macdermid 12:26

Yeah, I always suspect Alastair voted for links awakening. That's my thoughts. Yeah, but

well done. Next up we've got best narrative.

Anton Winters 12:35

Yes. And, and this one I don't know about yourselves. This one was a hard one for me. We have at mystery Leon's journey. We had the Witcher free we had like awakening Fire Emblem, three houses, Pokemon started shield, and even even NDC like Delrin tonnes of stuff and some of the poo and another one which basically just said, it's too hard. I don't know. That was a great response. Thanks. Yeah,

Mike Macdermid 13:01

delta rune is such an interesting one but we only have chapter one at the moment. Yeah so so that was the reason I didn't go for delta and because I absolutely loved was the one previously again before Delta's right buys my mind. Yeah, I'm the same it's an Undertale Delta Undertale if Undertale was on that list of it been that year, that would probably want it for me but delta rune it has potential in the future. I went for the Witcher three. And I know I went for the Witcher three because I know the story is phenomenal. And it's a real groundbreaking story. What did you go for? Pretty sure I went for Fire Emblem because between I think that and delta rune are the only two of those I've played. I thought I thought you were going Fire Emblem any because I know you've been raving about fire them yes for a while. So and you played it three times through

Unknown Speaker 13:46

two times over. Okay, I might go for my third one. Yeah, and I've got some time off just now. And Tom. Where

Anton Winters 13:51

did Where did you vote? Oh, see? Who knows.

Unknown Speaker 13:57

Mysterious Yes, shall we Feel

Mike Macdermid 14:01

free Let me see. Yes, absolutely go for it.

Anton Winters 14:03

Alrighty, tip switch UK podcast best narrative award goes to Legend of Zelda link so we can show that That isn't what I've personally played. So I think that's Emily and I'll start teaming up possibly so

Mike Macdermid 14:17

yeah, so it must have been a bit of a split then I think we all must have gone for different things other than Emily and Alastair.

Unknown Speaker 14:23

Yes Yeah, and just makes me want to play even more now.

Mike Macdermid 14:26

Yeah, that's fantastic. I mean, it's it's testament to the game and obviously it's it's one that now looks better than ever. Next up best audio and music, indeed. And a game

Anton Winters 14:37

as lovely just its music such an underrated piece of gaming and set this year has been no exception to that. We had the Witcher free we had Delta rune we had links awakening Kim's Pyro cuphead Andy's really coming for a srong with music lists your rounds.

Mike Macdermid 14:57

I don't remember what I picked I have not a clue James where would you have gone? I

Unknown Speaker 15:03

think I went cadence of Hyrule I think partly it helps because the game is about music

Mike Macdermid 15:09

that's what I went that's what I went such a good game yeah and I have not played it but having watched other people play it obviously it's rhythm based I think there's an option where you can play it without the rhythm.

Unknown Speaker 15:20

Yes you can so it can have more goals turn base just like the original crypt of the necrodancer as well

Mike Macdermid 15:25

yeah, I thought it was really clever how they merge those two franchises. It wasn't one that many of us saw coming. Music such a big part of it. We haven't seen a link Zelda game that has that element in it so I think for me that's what I went. Yeah. What about the results then Anton?

Anton Winters 15:41

Alrighty, so far then tandel search UK podcast best audio or, and or Music Award goes to cadence of Hyrule. All right, excellent. fairly strong when there and also the music such an integral part of the game, combining the fantastic music of turtleneck Start with Joe Silva match made in heaven, I think.

Mike Macdermid 16:03

Yeah, absolutely. I'm glad that that's the first one. I think that we've unanimously agreed on this. And it's been the award. And next up innovative gameplay.

Anton Winters 16:14

Yes. And this one's a fairly broad category here. So we have everything from trover saves the universe in Tetris, 99 to ring fit adventure and to two different levels. So level VR and the classic levels. And it's it's been a very bizarre year in a very, very scary category.

Mike Macdermid 16:33

Yeah, again, I'm struggling to remember James, where did you go for this?

Unknown Speaker 16:39

I think I went level VR. I'm not sure. I mean, the year did pretty much have have all of the innovative gameplays you could imagine. I know I know her from some Donkey Kong bongos.

Mike Macdermid 16:52

There is still time for that remaster.

Unknown Speaker 16:55

Sorry, I only got

Anton Winters 16:56

you. You've played level VR, haven't you, James?

Unknown Speaker 16:59

Yes. Yes. I have. I kept meaning to bring it round to let Mike play it. I didn't haven't yet. I'm very sorry. Well, thanks for

Mike Macdermid 17:06

I think his ring fit in this list. Indeed, yes. Yeah, I think that's what I went only because it's such an unusual peripheral. Before we kind of knew much about it, and everyone was kind of so like, what in earth is this? So I think for innovation, and for something new and the fact that there aren't many companies able to replicate it at the moment because it's so unique or maybe it's just the cost effectiveness of it. We're not sure but the point is that it's it's something very different. So I think that's where I went on to Anton.

Anton Winters 17:36

Alright, say so for this podcast, innovative gameplay award goes to and you're very much right make ring fits adventure.

Mike Macdermid 17:45

Okay, okay. Does it surprise me again, but again, labo could have easily because labo has so much to but I guess ring fit is just that bit more in our minds because more recent, perhaps I don't know.

Unknown Speaker 17:56

It's some. It feels like a proper peripheral. Yes. I did enjoy the building everything myself but you are kind of building it all yourself the ring for the Adventure The ring is just called the ring ring. Yeah is is a really cool piece of kit. Yeah,

Mike Macdermid 18:14

it's very clever. Okay, next

Anton Winters 18:16

sorry I'm sorry just count following on from that is very much like hat Frank fed venture it seems like a different experience whereas a lot of level was just playing games via cardboard. Yeah, yeah, that's really true truly something very different.

Mike Macdermid 18:31

I'm kind of intrigued as to where they go next with their if they can start using that peripheral for some other type of game, you know that oh

Unknown Speaker 18:38

my god, some labo integration into Mario Kart with a wheel. Oh, that ring would probably lend itself perfectly. Yeah. I imagine we'll have a ream of other low budget. Quick to market fitness titles names. Yeah,

Unknown Speaker 18:53

yeah. Yeah, because it's sold out in Japan. So

Anton Winters 18:59

for a market Mainly handheld focus with the switch map with that being a game that you have to play on the TV at considering that game sold well in that market proves that has been doing all right so we hopefully may see some first our titles taken advantage of that.

Mike Macdermid 19:14

I'm glad it's only in the TV. I really couldn't bear travelling on the trade and see I have been really annoying. Next up the next category is better with friends. Yeah,

Anton Winters 19:22

so for all your core coach buddies, we got everything here from cuphead New Super Mario Bros, you Astro bears Luigi mansion at New Super Mario Maker, too.

Mike Macdermid 19:36

Okay, I think I might have gone Astro bears.

Unknown Speaker 19:39

I genuinely can't remember.

Mike Macdermid 19:42

So bears had an update quite recently, which was free if you own the original game. The Astro bears game, which is only a few quid in the store is a fantastic multiplayer. It's one that you can play with people that haven't been playing an awful lot of gaming as well. So yeah, that was I think that's where I went and you don't remember

Unknown Speaker 20:01

I really don't remember but for me very few of my friends are as I guess in tune with gaming as we would be so I tend to go for the games that are a bit easier to play you go with the jack boxes or things that are Yeah, a bit simpler. Yeah, sounds really bad. I'm not meaning to

Mike Macdermid 20:18

know but I have met your friends and don't get it. No, it's true. It's true because you know, a lot of time you are playing with people who aren't necessarily gamers and they're not they're not there they don't want to spend that time and investment in playing diablo You know, there's a lot of my friends aren't coming around to play Diablo with me, you know, but they will come out and play jackbox montone you know,

Anton Winters 20:38

yeah, it's it's amazing to see how our fantastic co founders Nintendo making big titles like Luigi is mentioned that have a prominent coach club elements like we've got the modern Sonic games. It's been a fantastic year for for Coach cool, but hasn't just been your attendees. Although we didn't have titles like cuphead it's been good.

Mike Macdermid 20:58

Absolutely. How did this one fair?

Anton Winters 21:02

Yes, this one was fairly close but there is a unanimous winner at Nintendo Switch UK podcasts better with friends award goes to Astro eres Allister our little nd darling. super cheap I think I picked up for 99 key I think it's just a very accessible game for anyone like it's basically parcher Lane the level of snake but on gulps

Mike Macdermid 21:31

Yeah, absolutely and with other people to crash into and to try and avoid so yeah, great, great little title well worth a check out if you haven't already. Next up is most anticipated game. I mean, I have about a million and then Oh, I know. I remember when I voted on this one until

Anton Winters 21:46

what were the nominations? Yeah, this one was a tough category. So we've got everything from Minecraft dungeons, Metroid Prime for Animal Crossing a new horizon, do maternal. No More Heroes free. That one's got a very nice full length but very dedicate one. Yeah be be on the air free. And just as of recent announcements, the outer worlds

Mike Macdermid 22:06

Yeah, I know, I went for their two worlds 100% because I'm very excited about that game. And that's a personal choice because I know it's been well reviewed. It's exactly what my story is a game. Yeah. So I know what I'm doing.

Unknown Speaker 22:18

I can we just give it to all of them?

Mike Macdermid 22:23

This is the problem is that, you know, especially the anticipated game, I mean, a lot of the time, we I'm just looking forward to more stuff coming out and to find time to play them. So

Unknown Speaker 22:32

yes, I know that the outer worlds for me will probably be one ball, drop everything and play that. I think that's how I worked at that one for me, because my most anticipated game is also the one I'm dreading most, because I am going to sink an awful lot of time into our democracy when that comes on.

Mike Macdermid 22:49

Yeah, imagine that.

Unknown Speaker 22:50

Is that where you were voted? Um, I think so. I spent an awful lot of time thinking about this and I might have talked myself out of it purely because I'm getting I have no social life for a good while once that game comes out

Mike Macdermid 23:04

well I guess they're all kind of winners in this category on in that sense but it's gonna be interesting to see how the voting is gone here

Anton Winters 23:12

yeah it's kind of surreal that we're we're getting all these games that these are going to be definite chart toppers for the foreseeable future but there may only be one as the tendo switch UK podcast most anticipated game award goes to and for a second one untitled brief the wild sequel which is a big one I think it's kind of hard it's

Mike Macdermid 23:36

hard to argue with it really is I think so. Yeah, like can be that to be honest. It probably is the word The winner of and I've gone the outer worlds but really that two worlds is I wouldn't other consoles I've gone that from a personally selfish personal point of

Unknown Speaker 23:48

view. That's why we should be voting anyway.

Mike Macdermid 23:49

Yeah, well, yeah. Should you should vote for the one that is yours.

Anton Winters 23:52

Yes. Next up we've got best indeed. Yes and Michael try pick up a list of Joe So the main ones we do have another option that people I forget some titles when I was making a survey but we've got so many good games in here we've got Neil cap cancel hierro Warcraft cuphead catana zero skill boy, Untitled goose game, so many titles.

Mike Macdermid 24:16

James, I'm going to sit I'm going to suspect you've got an untitled goose game.

Unknown Speaker 24:19

I'm pretty sure I did. Yeah, I love that was shot but it was amazing.

Mike Macdermid 24:23

I've got New York out because I played the whole demo. And I love that premise. I think it's fantastic. It's a cool premise is not perfect, but it's, I just think it's really clever. I will pick up the title at some point it was on sale on the recent sale too. But 14 pounds I'm gonna wait and see if I can get it for less than 10. No, but yeah, that was definitely how I voted on that one.

Anton Winters 24:42

Yeah, it was interesting where I was kind of looking at less less. I'm like, these are a lot of good games, but haven't had the most involvement but many of them but and just so much great indie talent and there's a loaf and the females are coming they're making their second farts for titles in their their experience. Parents now but shall we shuffle on us? I think we'll do the result. What were the results? Yes. So tennis which UK podcast base and the Game of the Year award goes to untitled goose game. Yeah. Then I storm.

Mike Macdermid 25:15

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me again. And I think fair play. I mean, I didn't think anyone else other than me would vote for New York app because it is a nice, but you know, I'm gonna go with what I like. But until this game, I must admit it's another one that looks great. I'll probably pick that up at some brilliant. Yeah, it's

Unknown Speaker 25:30

absolutely brilliant.

Mike Macdermid 25:32

I'll be picking up when everyone's playing whatever comes after the switch and I'm still on the switch. I catch up with my games. That's what I'm next up there. And it's the big one. It's the one that is probably the biggest award in the world for the Nintendo Switch UK podcast. And it's the Game of the Year 2019. Anton.

Anton Winters 25:48

Yes. And this one from a boiling point of view was the single most polarising award. Going back and try summarise the year. Well, I hear we've had on tale goose game Pokemon started shield Super Mario Maker Luigi smash and Dragon Quest links awakening Fire Emblem and so many other fantastic titles so hard to choose.

Mike Macdermid 26:12

I had a long hard think about this and I still don't think I necessarily came up with the right answer but there were well all of them could have been it for me I think dragons quest for me was one that was it's it's such a well done title on the switch. We're delighted that we have that played a bit the demo and really enjoyed it. I think James I think I went for I forgot now what was the other ones? What was the one I waited for? Oh, well, you got in there. Oh,

Anton Winters 26:43

yeah. Could be anything. Oh, no,

Mike Macdermid 26:46

I know exactly what it was Luigi mansion. And only because I think we waited a long time for Louie DS mansion game. And the interesting thing is I haven't played it. But I also love the fact they've got so many core elements in it. I'd so for me Louise mansions where I went.

Unknown Speaker 27:03

I'm very concerned about how you voted in this

Mike Macdermid 27:07

was my my instinct, you know, and for me Louise mentioned Lucas great. I love I love the fact that it's got a lot of content. We've written a long time since the second one. So yes, how I went about training them to be honest. Yes, yeah. Did you go Pokemon? Um, I think I went Fire

Unknown Speaker 27:25

Emblem, although I played the Dragon Quest demo, and I loved it. Yeah. If I had played the whole thing. It might have been a different story. Yeah, pretty sure I went Fire Emblem.

Anton Winters 27:39

Mike Macdermid 28:42

It is it's the thing is that all of these games are amazing achievements on the switch. And it really could have been anything. It's been an amazing year when you think about where we were a year ago with the switch and we started this podcast almost exactly a year ago was December 2018. We did our first test Episode Episode Two Number one, and then from there, we started at the star 2019 for the full first season, and it's quite incredible how many games we've probably talked about over the course of the year and so on.

Anton Winters 29:10

Yeah, and you know that the nice thing with Pokemon sword and shield and calthorpe eventually will be having a similar talk. Talk about animal crossing. So very much the big pillars are there the switch light sailor swear, they're going to be bringing people into the colon, soul and flesh that we're, we're just going to be inundated with more games coming more more players more games.

Mike Macdermid 29:33

Yeah, absolutely. No, I think I think all those are, you can make arguments for and against and I suspect, James, they'll be people that will probably vastly disagree with all our decisions. Yeah and we can bounce out where they sell very much Nintendo Switch UK podcast theme but yeah, let us know what you think.

Mike Macdermid 30:32

Yeah, the quick cool I think to get some some of the some some of your thoughts on the game of the year as well and get other people to vote to I think games

Unknown Speaker 30:41

Mike Macdermid 30:48
